5-Week Courses at Hope Pottery

Tuesday evenings 6.30-8.30pm at Hope Pottery, Hope House, Mabgate. 

These 5 week pottery courses are perfect for beginners or anyone wishing to expand their pottery knowledge. With small group sizes you get plenty of support as you create pieces you’ll be proud to take home. 

The course is tailored to you, you’re welcome to bring your ideas, sketches, or even a Pinterest board, and Niamh will help you bring them to life. 

Course example if you're a beginner:

Week 1 – Introduction to handbuilding through pinching
Week 2 – Pinching techniques and surface design
Week 3 – Introduction to slab building and coloured clay
Week 4 – Finishing your slab-built project
Week 5 – Glazing your bisque-fired pieces

Returning students will get the opportunity to learn the potters wheel alongside more challenging handbuilding projects. 

After the course, your work will be ready to collect from Hope Pottery 4 weeks later.
