5-Week Handbuilding Courses at Hope Pottery

Tuesday evenings 6.30-8.30pm at Hope Pottery, Hope House, Mabgate. 

The 5 week handbuilding courses are perfect for beginners, with small group sizes so you get plenty of support as you create pieces you’ll be proud to take home. Niamh is an experienced teacher who creates a friendly, relaxed environment in her classes.

The course is tailored to you, you’re welcome to bring your ideas, sketches, or even a Pinterest board, and Niamh will help you bring them to life. 

Course Schedule

Week 1 – Introduction to handbuilding through pinching
Week 2 – Pinching techniques and surface design
Week 3 – Introduction to slab building and coloured clay
Week 4 – Finishing your slab-built project
Week 5 – Glazing your bisque-fired pieces

After the course, your work will be ready to collect from Hope Pottery 3–4 weeks later.
